I took a short walk during part of my lunch time and now here I am, posting so pictures that I took outside. One of the directors of one of our sites told me last year that she enjoyed the pictures that I took of spring because she never got to see the campus during the spring, so, ENJOY!

Nice pictures! Your campus looks very pretty. Did I see some dogwoods? We don’t have those around here and I miss them. We had them everywhere in Kentucky when I was growing up. Our redbud in our “courtyard” in front of the house has about finished its blooming and our jonquils are pretty much gone. My peonies have started coming up and I can’t wait to see if they will give me blooms this year. I planted them several years ago, but they had never bloomed. In 2007, my mom fell and broke her hip. She couldn’t go back to living by herself in her apartment and both my brother and sister in law worked and couldn’t take care of her. I was retired, so we moved her here from Kentucky. That was in April of 2007. We always talked about the peonies and couldn’t figure out why they didn’t bloom. She had a lot of health issues in addition to her hip and she was in and out of nursing home over the next 8 months. Finally, on December 23, 2007, her physical body was released from its suffering and she joined my dad and Jesus in heaven. The following year, on April 25, 2008, which would have been her 87th birthday, the peony gave me one beautiful bloom. I know you understand that I just stood there and cried and said Thank you, mom. So every year I anxiously wait to see what those peonies are going to do. There have been years when they are covered in blooms and years when only 2 or 3 will appear. But it is always a blessing.
